NHS Jobs service enhancements: Step Into Health reporting

CTP RightJob is an online job-finding service that lists thousands of vacancies for ex-military personnel. On the 1st May 2019, NHS Jobs introduced the ability for organisations to track and report on vacancies advertised on CTP RightJob, which they can do by enabling the question 'Are you a member of the Armed Forces community?' for candidates to tick which will remain with them throughout the process.

Under the NHS Step Into Health programme - which was developed in conjunction with Health Education England, The Royal Foundation, Walking With The Wounded, NHS Employers and 5 NHS regional areas - it provides a dedicated pathway for the Armed Forces community to access the numerous career opportunities available in the NHS. CTP RightJob recognises the transferable skills and cultural values that the Armed Forces community develop and how they are compatible with those required within NHS roles, with many NHS organisations pledging to interview all armed forces candidates if they meet the minimum criteria.

For those using 3rd party ATS systems, we will soon be updating the XML feed so that tracking and reporting on vacancies is also possible where candidates have ticked the box 'Are you a member of the Armed Forces community?', and this will be visible when candidates are shortlisted. We believe this will be a welcomed move for NHS organisations signed up to the Step Into Health programme.
