Recruiting General Practice Nurses just got easier

A new NHS website has been launched to make it easier for GP practices to attract high quality candidates for General Practice Nursing roles.

The site,, works with the NHS Jobs service to form part of a drive to boost nurse recruitment and raise the profile of general practice nursing as a first destination career.

NHS England and NHS Improvement launched the site, developed by the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA), to support the ‘We Are The NHS’ staff recruitment campaign.

The new website makes it easier for potential applicants to find local GP Nursing vacancies in just three clicks. Featured roles include:

  • General Practice Nurse
  • Advanced Nurse Practitioner
  • Advanced Clinical Practitioner
  • Health Care Support Worker
  • Nurse Associate

It also includes comprehensive information about careers in general practice nursing, how to start out in GP Nursing and how to return to practice as a GP Nurse.

David Roberts, Head of Service for NHS Jobs at the NHSBSA, said: “We’re proud to be part of the campaign to support NHS workforce initiatives including the development of the new NHS Jobs service. This new website links directly into GP practice vacancies within the current NHS Jobs site and filters them more efficiently to improve user experience and make it easier for prospective nurses to find their perfect role.”

To promote vacancies on the site, GP practices simply need to upload them to the NHS Jobs website, using the key words General Practice Nurse, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Health Care Support Worker, or Nurse Associate

Adverting vacancies on NHS Jobs is free for NHS GP practices. To register your practice for NHS Jobs, contact the helpdesk on
