Provider Assurance Pharmaceutical Services: Appliance Use Review Post Payment Verification Service Summary

The Appliance Use Review (AUR) Post Payment Verification (PPV) service is provided by the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) and delivered on behalf of NHS England (NHSE).

Who is AUR PPV For?

An AUR is a consultation between a pharmacy or appliance contractor and a patient to discuss the appliance or device they are using, providing guidance, discussing queries and concerns. An AUR can be conducted for every 35 qualifying items dispensed.

The AUR PPV service is for any Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) who wish to review the validity and accuracy of AUR claims.

Why is AUR PPV Important?

The AUR PPV service can support Pharmacy or Appliance contractors with education regarding valid submissions and ensure any overclaims result in a financial recovery.
