Final call to submit your annual GOS complaints return
General Ophthalmic Service (GOS) contractors operating in England must submit their annual GOS complaints return before 11:59pm next Friday, 3 September 2021.
Under General Ophthalmic Services Regulations 2008, contractors are required to complete and submit an annual form providing the number of written NHS complaints received for ophthalmic services in their practice.
As last year’s collection was paused due to COVID-19, this year’s collection covers any written complaints received between 1 April 2019 and Wednesday 31 March 2021.
GOS contractors need to submit a return even if their practice did not receive any complaints.
Joanna Stables, clinical advisor at the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA), said: “It should only take a few minutes to submit the annual GOS complaints return online via our website. All contractors need to start the return is their practice’s ODS code.”
