Free CPD for General Optical Council registrants in England: Intraocular lenses national patient safety alert webinar
The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) has released a free webinar on Nidek EyeCee One preloaded and EyeCee One Crystal preloaded intraocular lenses (IOLs).
The webinar was developed in response to the recent IOLs patient safety alert, which was issued by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). General Optical Council (GOC) registrants who complete the webinar can gain half a point towards their Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
The recorded 30-minute webinar guides GOC registrants in England through the process for patients who are affected by the IOLs national patient safety alert. The NHSBSA’s clinical team explains the appropriate process to report intraocular pressure and how to accurately submit a GOS form for the service provided.
To gain 0.5 CPD points, GOC registrants must watch the webinar and pass the multiple choice assessment with a score greater than 60%. GOC registrants in England can access the webinar through the NHSBSA's dedicated CPD webpage.
