Tell us about your NHS dental care experience

Gathering feedback from NHS dental patients across Wales

Dental patients in Wales are being randomly selected to complete a questionnaire. Responses will be used by the Welsh Government and Public Health Wales to evaluate patient experience.

The Welsh Government is gathering feedback from patients about their NHS dental care experience.

From 1 April 2022, patients in Wales will be randomly selected to complete a questionnaire. The questionnaire will be relevant to the type of dental treatment the patient has received: general, urgent or orthodontic.

On behalf of the Welsh Government, the NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) will contact selected patients by post, text or email. Patients do not need to do anything unless they are contacted.

Patients’ responses will be anonymised and reported back to the Welsh Government and Public Health Wales. Findings will then be used to evaluate patient experience and help support dental improvements for the future.

The NHSBSA has produced a communications toolkit to help dental teams in Wales communicate the importance of taking part in patient questionnaires.

The toolkit includes a variety of communication materials, such as social media graphics, posters and digital screen images, in English and Welsh.

The toolkit can be downloaded online at: https://media.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/campaigns/patient-questionnaires-wales
