Better Health at Work Award

NHS Business Services Authority Retains Top Wellbeing Accreditation

The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) is proud to announce that it has once again been awarded ‘Maintaining Excellence’ status from the Better Health at Work Award (BHAWA).

The Better Health at Work Award recognises the efforts of employers in the North East and Cumbria in addressing health issues within the workplace. The NHSBSA has achieved the highest award level available in recognition of its continuing commitment to the health and wellbeing of colleagues across the organisation.

It takes up to a year to achieve each of the five levels of the award – Bronze, Silver, Gold, Continuing Excellence and Maintaining Excellence. The NHSBSA first achieved Maintaining Excellence status in 2021.

Introduced in 2015, an additional Ambassador status is given to employers who consistently operate at the level of Maintaining Excellence, showcasing long-term commitment and outstanding practice in workplace health and wellbeing. The NHSBSA has held Ambassador status for the last two years, and the continuation of work has resulted in the highest level of recognition again this year.

Mark Dibble, Executive Director of People and Corporate Services at the NHSBSA, said: “I’m thrilled that we have once again achieved Maintaining Excellence status with BHAWA - the 5th and highest award level available. This is fantastic news and recognition of the NHSBSA's continuing commitment to the health and wellbeing of its workforce.”
